If you would like to have the support of a midwife during your pregnancy, you may be interested in coming to our midwifery clinics once you have reached week 24 of your pregnancy. Check-ups are reimbursed by the statutory health insurance funds. Please let your gynaecologist know if this is what you have decided and arrange an appointment by contacting our Maternity Ward on 0621 503 3259.
Information evening for parents-to-be
Please join us for one of our information evenings.
These are held in the Ludwigshafen Hopsital's Maternity Ward on the 1st Monday of every month. The evening starts at 18:30. Entrance to the Maternity Ward is via the main entrance on Bremerstr. 79. Please follow the signs for 'Kreißsaal in Haus B' (Maternity Ward, Building B).
Our medical director, paediatricians, consultants from the maternity ward, a midwife from our maternity ward, an anaesthetist and a paediatric nurse will all be in attendance to provide an introduction to our maternity unit. After an initial introduction about our day-to-day work in the maternity unit we will answer any questions you may have. The evening concludes with a tour of the delivery suite and maternity ward.
Siblings are very welcome to come along.
There is no need to pre-book.
We can also arrange for an information evening in Turkish, English, Arabic, Persian, Russian or French. If this is something you might be interested in please contact our secretary, Frau Jung, on 0621 503 3278.
Planning labour and birth - consultations
If you plan to deliver your baby in Ludwigshafen Hospital, we recommend that you arrange an appointment for an initial consultation. Of course, you can deliver your baby even if you have not had a previous appointment. However, a consultation provides an excellent opportunity for you to discuss your wishes and concerns in detail.
Perhaps you have very specific questions? Perhaps you would like a water birth? Maybe it is of particular importance to you that you have a pain-free labour experience? Or it is important to you that you deliver without any pain-relief? You may be concerned that, having had a previous C-section, you may need to be forced to have another C-section? Or perhaps you would like to opt for an elective C-section? Your have a breech baby and you are not sure what your options are? We will be happy to discuss all your questions in detail when you come for your initial planning meeting.
To book an appointment for an initial planning meeting, please contact our secretary, Frau Jung, on 0621 503 3278.
We can also arrange for the initial consultation to take place in Turkish, English, Arabic, Persian, Russian or French. If this is something you might be interested in please contact our secretary, Frau Jung, on 0621 503 3278.
