The Surgical Clinic A - or General, Abdominal, Thoracic and Trauma Surgery Clinic (Klinik für Allgemein-, Viszeral-, Thorax- und Unfallchirurgie) - offers treatment for patients with benign and malignant disorders affecting the thoracic and abdominal regions or endocrine glands, as well as patients with trauma injuries.
Our main focus is the surgical treatment of benign and malignant tumours of the lungs, oesophagus, stomach, biliary tract, liver, and the small and large intestines. We also specialise in surgical procedures involving the thyroid, pancreas, adrenal glands and rectum, as well as surgical treatment for traumatic injuries and reconstructive surgery.
In conjunction with the Surgical Clinic A, we have been running the Rheinpfalz Bowel Centre which was certified in 2009.
Our Clinic also forms part of the interdisciplinary Continence and Pelvic Floor Centre which offers a comprehensive range of therapies to patients with bladder or rectal dysfunction.
In some cases, surgery may be possible on a day case basis, thus avoiding a stay in hospital. Please click here for further information on our Centre for Day Case Surgery
