Ludwigshafen Hospital's Continence and Pelvic Floor Centre has an interdisciplinary team of experts who specialise in the treatment of patients with bladder or bowel incontinence.The centre is endorsed and certified by The German Continence Society. Bladder incontinence, also known as bladder weakness, can occur in both women and men. In women, bladder incontinence is often related to the descent of the sexual organs, bladder or rectum and can lead to leakage of urine during physical activity.
In men, similar problems can develop as a result of prostate problems. Often, bladder problems can also be caused by nerve damage or by diseases such as diabetes.
