The Ludwigshafen Municipal Hospital Eye Clinic is dedicated to helping patients improve and maintain their vision. From basic eye exams to the most advanced diagnostic tests and sophisticated surgery, we provide comprehensive eye care services at one convenient location. The Eye Clinic’s state-of-the-art facilities and research activities enable our staff members to apply the latest treatment techniques to all manner of ocular diseases including age-related macular degeneration, retinal vessel occlusion, diabetic retinopathy, cataract or glaucoma.

Clinical Facilities
State-of-the-art facilities are present throughout the hospital, both in the clinic and the operating room. The main clinic area consists of a recently renovated patient waiting area with eight modern examining lanes and three ORs. A well-equipped minor surgery OR is located in the general clinic. Argon and Nd:YAG lasers are present on site.
Modern diagnostic modalities such as optical coherence tomography, ultrasonography, optic disc analysis, electro-diagnostic testing (ERG, EOG) and computerized visual field technology are routinely available.
Our Retinal Diagnostic Center offers the latest fundus imaging system with capability to image both fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography. A complete array of laser instrumentation is present, including diode lasers and a photodynamic therapy laser for treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration.
